MIt Kerberos 1.3 will work with system com_err libraries. Ted will
need to include some extra functions into e2fsprogs for this to
actually work.

You might look at the Debian packages of Kerberos for a solution to
this; I have some glue in libkrb5 that allows Debian to use the system
libcom_err.
