kftp malloc error

Hi

We have a user running ktelnet and kftp clients on Win2k to connect to some
remote systems. Authentication works fine as does the ktelnet client.  Kftp
gives the following error when trying to download a file in binary mode from
the remote site:

451 Local resource failure: malloc: Not enough space

Downloading in ascii mode works fine, as does uploading in binary and ascii
mode.  Only binary mode downloads are a problem - and example file is only
1.2Mb so not all that large. Similar sizes and larger download in ascii mode
okay.  The client system has plenty of free disk space (9Gb) and reasonable
memory (128Mb).

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
