krb5cc_uid incorrect

Whenever I use the kerberized login.krb5 to login to a machine(via telnet, etc.), the name of my credentials cache is a wild card.  The name of the file appears krb5cc_???? where the ?'s are random numbers.  This only happens when I attempt to login using the login.krb5 binary.  If I run kinit, the numbers are always my UID.  Any ideas?
