Help with krb4 telnetd

I'm new to Kerberos, and am playing around with it on a GNU/Linux
box of mine (Linux 2.4.18, glibc 2.2, latest everything for the most
part).

I got krb4 from the NetBSD source tree (NetBSD-current, Feb26).

When I telnet to localhost (with kerberos telnet and telnetd), I get:

Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
[ Trying mutual KERBEROS4 (rcmd.brick at BRICK.HN.ORG) ... ]
[ Kerberos V4 refuses authentication because Can't decode authenticator (krb_rd_req) ]
[ Trying KERBEROS4 (rcmd.brick at BRICK.HN.ORG) ... ]
[ Kerberos V4 refuses authentication because Can't decode authenticator (krb_rd_req) ]
telnetd: Authorization failed.
Connection closed by foreign host.

I had already authenticated (kauth).

Here's the line from inetd:

telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/athena/libexec/telnetd telnetd -a user

Any help would be appreciated!
