Hi All,
The next ITSelf group meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 6th, 10A-11:30A
(please note the *time change*) in the STS Reading Room, E51-091.
We met last week to discuss Castells' The Rise of the Network Society -
and after parsing through his meta-reading of cyberspace and information
societies, we thought we'd try an author with a slightly more
micro approach to each. So for the next meeting, we'll be covering
two pieces by Zizek: "The Cyberspace Real"
(at http://www.egs.edu/faculty/zizek/zizek-the-cyberspace-real.html) and
the Introduction to Mapping Ideology.
Candis is making copies for the group of the Intro to Mapping Ideology.
They should be ready to pick up from the STS student office in E51-070
(on top of the front cabinet) by late afternoon today.
