Hi Rajeev, et. al.
Thank you all for joining the iMobileU mailing list.
Some time during this week, I will have a formal email to kick off the
iMobileU Initiative as well as adding others to the group. I've been
meaning to send out an email, but the current projects here at MIT
have been keeping me busier than usual.
Hopefully, the formal launch of the Initiative will allow me and
others to gather additional resources to spend more time and focus on
the objectives of the iMobileU Initiative in the near future.

To answer and comment on Rajeev's question:
1. "So, we are wondering if there are any plans to release any later
versions of the MIT project?"
Absolutely. We have been making progress in improving the MIT Mobile
Web with new features, modules, and functionalities that we plan on
sharing in the next release. We hope to do this in early July.
2. templating system, rss, configuration service, Android/G-Phone views.
Rajeev, could you share with all of us in more detail what your
intention for each item is? We would love to collaborate and include
any improvements into the project.
As for the Android/G-Phone version, we had ours up and running at http://m.mit.edu
since January as a beta. (Please go to the MIT Mobile site using
your Android device). The UI is based off of the iPhone user interface
and it is about 90% there. We anticipate that there will be more
WebKit based mobile browsers appearing in the market (e.g. Palm Pre,
more Android devices, Nokia S60 devices, etc.), so we do plan on
expanding the WebKit version. (more details to come later)
The Android version was not included in the version 0.9 build, but we
hope to be able to release it for July.
Cheers,
Andrew
