The Experimental College invites professionals and graduate students to apply as Visiting Lecturers for the Spring 2018 semester.

Graduate students in particular are always looking for opportunities to teach in their area of expertise, and the Experimental College at Tufts University is a place where that can happen.

Applicants will:

  *   Design an undergraduate elective course
  *   Explore interdisciplinary subjects
  *   Examine contemporary issues and ideas
  *   Use innovative teaching methods

ExCollege courses tend to address issues of current importance and/or interdisciplinary subject areas that complement – rather than duplicate – classes being offered in the traditional departments.

Up to twenty courses will be chosen from a very competitive pool. Classes meet for 2.5 hours in the evening, once a week, over thirteen weeks.  They are usually kept to less than twenty students, and are discussion and participation oriented. Courses are usually taught in a classroom setting at the Tufts Medford/Somerville campus, although proposals for online courses have been considered in exceptional cases. Stipend: $4,500.00 for the semester (begins Thursday, January 18, 2018).
