The Historicizing Knowledge about Human Biological Diversity research group at
the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science announces a
One Year Postdoctoral Fellowship (with possible renewal),
starting March /April, 2012 (negotiable). Outstanding junior scholars are
invited to apply.
We invite proposals for projects on the late 20th century history of population
genetics/genomics in a context outside Europe and North America. Projects that
look at the intersection between population genetics/genomics research and
human health care are especially desirable. As this is an interdisciplinary
research group, we welcome applications from candidates with PhD in, Cultural
History, History of Science, Colonial / Postcolonial History, Global History,
Anthropology, or STS. Candidates should be able to read and communicate in
English.

Fellowships are endowed with a monthly stipend between 1.900 and 2.300
(fellows from abroad) or between 1.468 and 1.621 (fellows from
Germany). Candidates of all nationalities are welcome to apply; applications
from women are especially welcomed. The Max Planck Society is committed to
promoting more handicapped individuals and encourages them to apply.
Postdoctoral fellows are expected to participate in the research activities at
the Institute.
Candidates are requested to send a curriculum vitae, publication list, copies of
certificates (PhD), research prospectus (maximum 500 words), a sample
publication or dissertation chapter, and names and addresses of two referees no
later than
