[Gsc-oc-firstyear] Orientation Events for Wednesday, September 1

[GSC Orientation]

Hi everybody,

We had another great day today, with hundreds of Welcome Packages and 
T-Shirts handed out at the Info Booth in Lobby 10, the very successful 
First Stop Shopping (see "personal message"), the Prudential Skywalk, the 
crowded Grad School 101 and the Off-campus gatherings in Allston and Inman.

Tomorrow's events are:

Wednesday, September 1
10am - 4pm             Information Booth [Lobby 10] (get your welcome 
package and t-shirt + a lot of infos and tickets in Lobby 10)
10am - 11:30am       Underrepresented Minorities Workshop  [2-105] 
(information session targeting underrepresented minorities)
11am & 1pm            Campus Walking Tours [Depart Lobby 10] (discover 
MIT's campus)
11:30am - 1pm        Making the Lab a Safe Space: Dealing with Conflict and 
Harassment at MIT (Workshop) [2-105] (new workshop dealing with 
interactions within the MIT community)
1pm - 2:30pm          Campus Police Welcome Lunch [20 Chimneys, Student 
Center] (Campus Police will give a presentation and provide lunch - 
attendance limited)
3pm - 4:30pm          Athletics Gateway [Rockwell Cage] (learn about sports 
at MIT)
3pm - 5pm               Spouses & Partners Coffee Hour [W20-400, Student 
Center] (meet other spouses and partners of MIT graduates)
5pm - 7pm               Welcome Reception under the Dome [Barker Library, 
10-500] (MIT Libraries and GSC bring you this relaxing evening under the 
Great Dome)
8pm - 10pm             Weekly Wednesday [Muddy Charles Pub] (Come and enjoy 
beverages and free food at the GSC's own Muddy Charles Pub)

US citizens:
Register to vote and get absentee ballot materials at the information booth 
(Lobby 10) starting tomorrow!

"Personal Message"
During the First Stop Shopping, someone left a Bed Bath & Beyond bag on the 
bus (with a light blue wastebasket and a Honeywell fan). Please contact
