[Gsc-oc-firstyear] Orientation Events for Tuesday, August 31

[GSC Orientation]

Dear incoming graduate students...

.... what an amazing first day for Orientation!! We had over 300 students 
show up for today's information sessions, and we ended the day with a 
friendly evening bbq with over 500 in attendance. The campus police walking 
tour was also very successful.

Tomorrow, we have much more in store for you:

Tuesday, August 31

9am - 12 noon         English Evaluation Test [Room 10-250]
12 noon - 2pm         ISO Coffee Hour [Mezzanine Lounge, Student Center] 
(for international students).
10am - 4pm             Information Booth [Lobby 10] (get your FREE t-shirt 
and welcome package + purchase all the tickets you want!!!)
10am - 12 noon        Spouses & Partners Coffee Hour [W20-400, Student 
Center] (meet with Spouses&Partners at MIT)
11am & 1pm            Campus Walking Tours [Depart Lobby 10] (explore MIT's 
campus on a guided tour)
2pm - 6pm               First Stop Shopping [Departs Ashdown] (buy all your 
household essentials for cheap: we're driving you to Everett Mall. Tickets 
for the bus are on sale at the info booth).
5:30pm - 7pm          Grad School 101 (1/4) [Room 6-120] ("International 
Student Issues" will be the topic, food will be served).
7pm - 9pm               Sidney Pacific Prudential Skywalk Outing [Departs 
SP at 6:45pm and 77 Mass. Ave. at 7pm] (visit the famous Prudential Tower 
and eat ice-cream!!)
8pm onwards           Allston / Inman Off-Campus Events [Our House, B-Side 
Lounge] (come meet representatives of GSC off-campus housing).

We will send similar announcements every day (night...), so please check 
them out... and enjoy Orientation!!
