Dear fellow off-campus graduate students,

As we head into the home stretch on summer, here are a couple of
announcements about upcoming opportunities for the off-campus community. In
addition, we are about to welcome a new batch of off-campus grad students
into our community. Let's help make their transition a positive experience!

If you have a suggestion for an event or an issue regarding off-campus life
that could be relevant for discussion with the GSC, please let us know. If

1. Off-campus at the movies!

Meet up with fellow off-campus students for a movie night at the AMC Loews
Boston Common Theater! GSC HCA off-campus has a limited number of ticket
vouchers available, and will randomly select from those on the signup
sheet* and notify via email 3 days prior to the event. The meeting time
will be given with this email, but will be approximately between 7 and 8pm
depending on the showtimes of "The Wolverine".

*Sign-up does not guarantee a spot, but will enter you (or you+guest) into
the random selection process. The 15 people selected will be notified via
email.

2. Graduate Housing Taskforce Listening Session

Description: Have something to say about on- or off-campus graduate housing at
MIT? Read on!

As part of its activities on the Graduate Housing Task
Force<http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2013/grad-student-housing-working-group-launched-0318.html>the
GSC is hosting a listening session. Dean of Graduate Education
Christine Ortiz and other task force members will be there to hear your
opinions on, and ideas for MIT graduate housing policy, plans and strategy.

We want to understand the issues you have with graduate housing at MIT
(both on- and off-campus). In particular, we want to hear your thoughts on:

   -

   The trade-offs between proximity, safety, productivity and quality of
   life
   -

   The decision-making process you use to select housing
   -

   Your satisfaction with current graduate housing and housing resources at
   MIT
