Hey Off-Campus Grads,
Thanks to everyone that came to the Spring BBQ last week even though Mother
Nature decided to make the weather less than ideal. I'll try to coordinate
one more BBQ right after finals week for everyone and hope the weather stays
on our side. Here are some upcoming events that should also be fun. Enjoy
the last week of classes.

Events:
1) A Taste of Scotland - May 22 (buy tickets May 12) 
2) Acoustics BBQ - May 16 
3) '08 Orientation 
4) Website Testing for the DGE

1) A Taste of Scotland

Featuring:
- tastings of The Glenlivet scotch whisky (12, 15, 16, 18, and 21 year
varieties)
- indoor golf driving and putting practice
- appetizers
- gift bags

When: Thursday, May 22nd, 6:30-8:30 PM
Where: La Sala de Puerto Rico, 2nd floor of MIT student center
Tickets: $10 for MIT graduate students, $10 for guests (max of 1
guest/student)

Tickets on sale Monday, May 12th, 4:00-5:30 PM in the GSC office (room
50-220).
Bring MIT ID to purchase tickets, age ID to enter event.  You must be 21+ to
attend this event.

2) Acoustic BBQ - free food and drinks!

Come to the 2008 GSC Acoustic BBQ on Friday, May 16th, 4:30-8:00 PM outside
at the Stata Center Amphitheater.  With FREE burgers, hot dogs, adult
beverages and two live bands rocking all day, this event is not to be
missed.

Please bring age ID to drink.
Rain location is inside the Stata Center (Forbes Cafe).

3) Join the '08 Orientation organizing team as a coordinator! 

If you are interested, please reply to gsc-oc at mit.edu before May 15th and
come to the Orientation Committee Meeting on May 15th from 6:30p to 7:30p in
the GSC Office 50-220. Food will be served :-)

4) Website Testing for the DGE: Volunteers Needed!

The Office of the Dean of Graduate Education (DGE) needs volunteers to 
test the new website. 
Time slots are available Thursday May 15 and Friday May 16.
