Graduate Student Volunteer Day (GSVD) is a community service day for
graduate students organized by various groups from all around campus.  
It has been happening since 2001, with an attendance of over 100 students
each year. It is a great way to give back to the community outside of MIT's
walls, to get to know fellow students, and to find out more about the
culture of the city. We invite you to find out more about the many volunteer
projects we offer.

5. Grad School Mixer
The New England College of Optometry is hosting a mixer. Please join us in a
fun-filled event with music, pool, and lots of new people. The event will
take place on Thursday, September 20th at 7pm at the Boston Billiard Club.
Project 1.9 will be performing. They have been selling out at all their
events. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people, while having
some fun and listening to great music.

to be involved in this Mixer.  Tickets will be sold ahead of time for $10.
Also, tickets will be sold at the door for $12.
