General GSC DEI Announcements

We will have our next GSC DEI full body meeting this coming Thursday, 10/22, at 4pm. All grad students are welcome who are interested in getting involved. Zoom link here<https://mit.zoom.us/j/95917913423>.


Our next Town Hall will take place on Thursday, 10/29, at 5pm. This month’s topic is Increasing Resources for Education and Support Regarding Harassment and Discrimination. This includes the hiring of departmental Diversity Officers, which is one of the most common recommendations we have seen at the departmental level. Department and Classroom Inclusion

Our next Conduit interdepartmental discussion will take place this coming Friday, 10/23, at 3pm. We welcome anyone who would like to discuss DEI initiatives in their department! We are also planning to use this when2meet<https://www.when2meet.com/?10123208-E9wXo> to find the best times to hold future discussions, so please fill this out if you are interested in participating!


Student Life

The MIT LGBTQ+ Chaplain will be hosting a “Coping in Community” event for LGBTQ+ community members and allies to build community during COVID-19. The event will be 10/19 (TOMORROW) from 5-6:30pm. The discussion will be moderated by Blanche Staton, Senior Associate Dean and Director of the Office of Graduate Education. This event is open to all MIT constituents.
