1 Why:      This is our only tool for understanding your expenses!

- Many MIT Graduate Students don’t realize that the setting of yearly
stipend levels, on-campus rents, and student fees at MIT is significantly
informed and based on a very important set of data which is collected
through a survey once every four years.
- We are very fortunate and excited to inform you that the 2011 Cost of
Living Survey is now live and waiting for your responses. You can find
your unique survey link in an email from Dean Christine Ortiz sent on
November 5th, 2011.
- In addition to helping graduate students, you'll also be entered into
a drawing for some excellent prizes (I-Pads, netbooks, amazon gift cards)!

-  Mentor high-schoolers interested in engineering and science and
connect with MIT grad students: volunteer to be an MIT ACES
(Achieving Careers in
-  Engineering and Science) mentor! ACES is a mentorship program
that introduces high school students to career paths in engineering
and the sciences.
-  ACES runs during the spring semester - it's approximately 7 sessions
that are 2 hours long (over lunch). We need your help to mentor 1-2
students, as
-  as well as help brainstorming fun workshops. This is one heck of
a rewarding experience!
