1 Why:      This is our only tool for understanding your expenses!

- Many MIT Graduate Students don’t realize that the setting of yearly
stipend levels, on-campus rents, and student fees at MIT is significantly
informed and based on a very important set of data which is collected
through a survey once every four years.
- We are very fortunate and excited to inform you that the 2011 Cost of
Living Survey is now live and waiting for your responses. You can find
your unique survey link in an email from Dean Christine Ortiz sent on
November 5th, 2011.
- In addition to helping graduate students, you'll also be entered into
a drawing for some excellent prizes (I-Pads, netbooks, amazon gift cards)!

- Looking for a way to earn some money over the next year?
- The Graduate Student Council is looking to hire a webmaster to do day-to-
  day maintenance and backend programming
- The Webmaster would be responsible for the Council's main website:

- Start: Immediately
- Salary: $18+/hour (negotiable based on experience)
- Skills: PhP, Java, HTML, front-end/back-end experience, Design skills
a plus
- Hours: Flexible hours weekly, this is a year-long position

-  Donate a few hours of our day off of classes to help commemorate
veterans by engaging in a community service project!
-  Help the City of Boston develop an electronic database of veterans’
landmarks in Boston
-  we’ll photograph and compile GPS coordinates for monuments, hero
squares, and burial sites in Boston.
-  Groups and individual volunteers are encouraged to participate.
Lunch will be provided.
