1 What: Grad Gala 2011: Black & White
1 When: Saturday, April 2, 8:00 PM-1:30 AM
1 Where: Park Plaza Hotel (near Arlington T Stop)
1 Who: MIT graduate student + one guest
- Ticket sales are open at https://gsc.mit.edu/gradgala/. Early bird discounts
available until February 21 (TechCash, cash or check only).
- On February 14, receive a complementary rose with a pair of tickets while
supplies last at: Lobby 10, 10am-1pm, and Stata Center 1pm-5pm.

- The Gala will feature a sparking wine pouring followed by an
exquisite three-course dinner, featuring live entertainment by the Beantown
Swing Orchestra, and dancing throughout the evening.
- Only MIT graduate students may purchase tickets. Each student may buy
one guest ticket. There is no physical ticket; there will be a guest list at the
event and you will check in there. Students may also purchase full tables of
eight tickets. Subsidized drink tickets and return shuttle tickets are also
available.
- Dinner tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are
transferable only after the event becomes sold out.
- There will be no refunds if you cancel and/or do not show up.

- The First Annual Graduate Art Soiree will be held on March 11th, 2011 at the
top floor of the New Media Lab and we are looking for artists & performers.
- Student artists, a chance to exhibit your fine art pieces to your fellow peers
is finally here!
- Dance or music groups, show off your talents by performing at the event.
- Art of all types, shapes, sizes, and forms are welcome: Architectural models,
Toy Lab projects, DNA structures, You Name It.

- The GSC Travel Grants support the conference-related travel expenses of
MIT graduate students from all Schools.
- This fund is allocated to conference travel expenses that are not currently
funded by the student's advisor or other MIT-related funding.
- The fund provides grant money for most conference-related expenses
including lodging, but excepting the conference registration fee.

8 Who: All students at US universities
- The MIT Clean Energy Prize is an educational platform for innovation,
entrepreneurship and new venture creation in the clean energy space.
- Co-sponsored by NSTAR and the U.S. Department of Energy, the Grand
Prize of $200,000 aims to catalyze a new generation of clean energy
solutions.
- 5 categories: Energy Efficiency & Infrastructure, Renewables, Non-
Renewables, Transportation, and Deployment.
- Each category winner will also win $15,000.
- Semifinalists will benefit from one-on-one mentorship from experienced
industry leaders and entrepreneurs, will expand their network, and will
connect with potential funders and customers via the high-press coverage
of the event.
- 1st round submission deadline is Friday, February 25.
