- Half of the Colombian population lives in regions dependent on primary activities
such as agriculture, livestock, and fishing, mostly small-scale activities. Despite its
economic and social relevance, government policies have been unable to improve
the competitiveness of small-scale farmers. Using learnings from two detailed cased
studies in major markets in Colombia (Bazurto and Corabastos), a supply chain
analysis is used to discuss potential systemic solutions (ICT centric) distinct from
traditional approaches like local regulation, infrastructure “modernization” and
disintermediation.
- Lunch will be provided.
