people with disabilities

disabilitieslive more independently!
- Sample projects: adapted iPods, modified sports equipment,
accessible software

3 What: Mentor a High School Student through ACES (Achieving
Careers in Science and Engineering)
3 When: Volunteering during the summer or fall

We're looking for volunteers to:
- Become a mentor: ~ 4 hours a month (meet twice a month for two
hours each to do a fun activity with your mentee)
- Create curricula that teach life skills: flexible hours... (meet
during the summer to create life skills curriculum i.e. college prep,
time management, note taking skills etc.)
- Teach workshops: at least 3 hours a semester (teach the life skills
curriculum to high school students during workshops)

different culture and country?
- Let's talk about the joys and challenges of being in an
intercultural relationship.
- Come to share your stories and suggestions for managing the
cultural and language barriers.
- All are welcome to attend, including children.
- Led by Kate McCarthy and Jennifer Recklet Tassi from the Center for
Health Promotion and Wellness at MIT Medical

Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) to remind him of the importance of funding
science research and education
- Urges Brown to support quick, bipartisan support of the upcoming
reauthorization of the America COMPETES Act (http://science.house.gov/)
- Email Megan Brewster (mmb6 at mit.edu) by 29 Jun with full name and
department to "sign" and/or to obtain copy of letter text
