*Graduate Ring Ordering*

Graduate Ring Ordering,
Dec 9-11, 11am-4pm, Wolk Lobby (E-51)

Order your graduate ring!  Balfour representatives will be on campus
to take your Grad Rat orders through Thursday, December 11th, 2008
from 11am until 4pm in the Wolk Lobby (E-51).  For more information

*Saferide Holiday Schedule*

Parking and Transportation will run a Holiday Saferide schedule
during Winter Break between December 19, 2008 and January 15, 2009.
The Saferide web pages
http://web.mit.edu/facilities/transportation/shuttles/safe_ride.html
were updated to include the Holiday and Summer schedules and the dates
they will be in operation. The schedules will be tracked by NextBus
and are designed to maintain high levels of service during periods
of low ridership.

*GSC Athletic & Performance Activities Grant*

Summary
Period covered: Jan 1 - Feb 28, 2009
Application deadline: Dec 11, 2008

The purpose of the Athletic/Performance-Activities Grant is to
support graduate students who pursue a non-research/non-academic
activity at competitive levels. The grant is designed to support MIT
graduate students who take part in competitions/concerts/events
throughout the year, both nationally and internationally.

The grant can cover fees and expenses such as registration,
accommodation, travel (air, car rental, gas, tolls, parking,
public transportation) and equipment shipment if needed.

For competitions/concerts/events happening in Jan and Feb of 2009,
fill out the application found at:

and email it to gsc-grant at mit.edu

*Language Diversity Survey*

2008 was declared the International Year of Languages by the UN.
The Lecture Series on Language Rights and Language Diversity at MIT
is hosting a panel discussion on Language Diversity
on Friday Dec. 12th, from 5 to 6PM in 6-120.
We are also publishing a booklet on the languages spoken at MIT.
This is where we need your help.
Please complete the survey below and send it to leonidus at mit.edu by  
Thursday Dec. 11th, for inclusion into the booklet.
It will be printed in several hundred copies and freely distributed.
