*Live Viewing of Diversity Leadership Congress*
As part of MIT's continuing work to inspire and support a culture of
diversity and inclusion, the Institute will host the Diversity
Leadership Congress on November 18th. The day is designed to give
participants practical tools and strategies to help lead diversity
efforts in their areas and foster a culture of inclusion at
MIT. Details about the program and speakers can be found at:
http://web.mit.edu/diversityleaders
Members of the community are welcome to participate in any of the
following ways:
(1) Prior to the Congress, community members may submit questions for
the panelists by writing to diversityleaders at mit.edu
(2) During the event, remote viewing will take place in the Student
Center (Mezzanine Lounge and West Lounge) as well as Room
E25-111. Attendees at the remote locations will have an opportunity to
contribute written comments to the Congress proceedings as well as to
participate in a facilitator-led debrief discussion. The remote
viewing will take place from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., with the discussion
immediately following.
(3) After the Congress, the event video will be available
on-line. Several units are already planning group viewing and
discussions to bring the conversation from the Congress back to the
local community.
If you would like more information about these options, please write
to ViewCongress at mit.edu.

*Pass/D/Fail Grading Option for Graduate Students*

the faculty this past spring and is available when students
pre-register online for the spring term beginning December 1, 2008.
Pass/D/Fail is available under the following circumstances:
- The student must be registered in a graduate degree program and
elect the option in a total of no more than one subject per term;
- Pass/D/Fail cannot be used to fulfill degree requirements
(including the required subject units for any degree program);
- The Registrar must be notified before the end of the fifth week
of the term (Add Date);
- Instructors and departments have the flexibility to limit the use
of P/D/F grading
