*Two Dollar Tuesday*

The next Two Dollar Tuesday dinner is Tuesday, October 21st at 6:00PM
in Morss Hall (first floor of Walker Memorial).  The menu will be
Indian food from Tanjore as well as adult beverages from the Muddy
Charles Pub (optional; extra $2 for drinking wrist band, bring 21+
age ID to drink).  Come mingle with graduate Alumni!

*Easing Stress with Mindfulness*

A Course for Graduate Students Offered by MIT Medical
Tuesdays from 2:00-3:00 p.m. 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18

Participants will learn a variety of ways to help reduce stress
including breathing techniques, meditation, yoga, and mindful eating.

Benefits of Practicing Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques Include:
Increased Focus and Concentration
Greater Enjoyment in Life
Cultivation of Positive Mental States
Increased Compassion

The MIT Excellence Awards are among the highest honors staff at MIT
can receive for their exceptional work and contributions to the
Institute. Please consider nominating a staff member who consistently
provides excellent service, counsel, mentoring, leadership or support.
There are seven categories of awards, including a new category called
Fostering Diversity and Inclusion: maximizing MIT's strengths.

The nomination deadline is October 27, 2008.

The Next Big Thing wants to showcase the best research being
performed across MIT and Harvard: your research.

A collaboration between TechLink and the 100K, “The Next Big Thing”
is a cross discipline tech expo that will take place at the 100k
Elevator Pitch Contest on October 18th.  With an audience of hundreds
from across MIT and industry, “The Next Big Thing” will provide you
with an excellent platform to showcase your work.
