*Welcome New Graduate Women!*

Dear new graduate woman,
A reception will be held in your honor on Thursday, September 25th at
4:30 in the Brown Living Room of McCormick Residence Hall. Dean
Blanche Staton as well as other women administrators and faculty want
to welcome you to the Institute. As you begin your journey at MIT, we
want you to know some of the people and the resources that are here
for you, and it's equally as important that you have a chance to
connect and build relationships with one another.

*100K Elevator Pitch Contest Kick-Off Mixer*

Come to the MIT 100K Elevator Pitch Contest kick off mixer Thursday
the 25th at 6PM at the Asgard (350 Mass Ave).  Enjoy free food and
drinks while schmoozing with your future MIT 100K teammates and
competitors.  Last year's winners will be there to answer your
questions about the competition.  This is the only open mixer before
the Elevator Pitch Competition next month, so come meet the rest of
your team!

*Comedian Russell Peters*

If you haven't heard, comedian RUSSELL PETERS is is coming to MIT!
The performance will take place at 8:00pm on Friday, October 3rd in
MIT's Kresge Auditorium.

Seating is limited, so be sure to buy early!  MIT student tickets
will be available for $15 apiece, and all other tickets for MIT
faculty, staff, alumni, and non-MIT students will be sold for $25.

You can purchase your tickets online at the brand new Student
Activities Office website:  sao.mit.edu.  Be sure to check back to
the website for updated news on upcoming campus events and other
information regarding event planning at MIT.

Russell Peters’ comedy focuses on his Canadian upbringing and racial
stereotypes, parodying his parents and South Asian culture.  Widely
known for actively engaging his audiences, Russell often talks to
individuals and makes remarks at or about them.  Russell began
performing in Canada and has since sold out shows at London's Shaw
Theatre, the Apollo Theatre in New York, and Madison Square Garden.
Never having performed on American TV networks, Russell’s YouTube
videos have been viewed by over 6 million individuals.  Russell is
currently working on a sitcom for FOX.

The application process for the IAP Externship Program will open
September 24!  The Externship Program matches you with alumni in
their workplace for job shadowing and/or practical experience. Alumni
around the world are looking to work with you!  Come to an
