Elections for the Chairs of GSC Committees take place throughout March.
Nominations for these positions are now open.

In addition, nominations are open for the four Officer positions.  The
election occurs at the GCM on Apr 2 at 5:30pm in 4-270.  To nominate

The Officers are elected by vote of GSC Representatives.  The deadline
for new representative applications for voting eligibility is Mar 19.

*Institute Awards - Call for Nominations*

Each year, the MIT Awards Convocation and the GSC honor faculty, students,
and staff who have had an oustanding impact on the grad student experience.
We are now inviting nominations for the following awards:

* Graduate Teaching Awards
* Frank E. Perkins Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising
* Edward L. Horton Fellowship Award for Graduate Student Community
* Irwin Sizer Award for Most Significant Improvement to MIT Education

*MIT GeoWeb expands access to GIS data*

MIT Geoweb, a new interface to the MIT Geodata Repository, enables users to
access Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, once only accessible in
ArcGIS, through a standard web browser.

Users can search, view, and download GIS data & metadata from the MIT
Geodata Repository, an int'l collection of GIS data maintained by MIT
GIS Services (sponsored by MIT Libraries, IS&T and OEIT). Users will find
data not freely available on the web or in Google Earth.
