*MIT Excellence Awards*
The MIT Excellence Awards are among the highest honors staff at MIT can
receive for their exceptional work and contributions to the Institute.
Please consider nominating a staff member who consistently provides
excellent service, counsel, mentoring, leadership or support. There are
six categories of awards.
The nomination deadline is October 17, 2007.

The online nomination form requires a valid MIT certificate. Letters of
support for nominations can be submitted by alumni and people outside of
MIT by sending email to rewards at mit.edu.
The awards are intended for any member of MIT?s administrative, support,
service and sponsored research staff. Examples of the types of positions
past recipients have held include: academic program administrators,
assistant deans, a house cleaner in a dorm, a shuttle driver, directors
of programs such as UPOP and MITES, IT directors and service providers,
and administrative assistants.

for information on what to include in a nomination.

*Be A GRT*
Residential Life Programs is looking for MIT graduate students to take
on live-in positions as Graduate Resident Tutors (GRT) in the various
undergraduate dorms (e.g. East Campus, Simmons Hall, Bexley, etc). GRTs
assist the Housemasters in ensuring the wellbeing of the undergrad
residents. GRTs are compensated with a free room for twelve months per
year and a stipend of $1460 for the 2008-2009 academic year.
There are four info sessions before the application deadline,
which is December 20, 2007. The info sessions are great way to hear an
overview of the program and get questions answered.
