*CELTICS TICKETS*

Tickets for the Boston Celtics vs the San Antonio Spurs:

Game date: Friday, November 11 2005, 7:30pm
Ticket sales: Tuesday, November 1, 4-6:30pm, GSC Office Walker 50-220
Cost: $19 MIT graduate students/post-docs, $20 guests

Limited to 2 tickets per person

*SIGN UP TO BE A GSC REPRESENTATIVE*

The 2004-2005 term for GSC Reps was finished at 11:59 pm, last Friday,
10.14.2005.  To become a representative, download the form at:

http://web.mit.edu/gsc/www/about/reps/gscreps/representatives-form.pdf

and turn it in to the GSC Vice-President, Sylvain Bruni, at the GSC Office
in Walker Memorial (10-220, directly over the Muddy Charles Pub), by
5pm Wednesday November 2.

Incoming Representatives will be expected to attend the GSC Representatives
Retreat in Sandwich, MA on October 28-29.  If you intend signing up as a
Representative, please let the GSC Officers know by 5pm Thursday October 27
that you will be attending the retreat (gsc-officers at mit.edu), even if
you have not turned your form in yet, so we can update our booking.

*FALL FESTIVAL*

Fall Festival events are taking place this weekend, October 28 - 30th.
It will feature Jazz events across campus with a jazz brunch in
Sidney-Pacific residence hall:

12pm Sunday Octobr 30
Jazz Brunch, Sidney Pacific Residence Hall, Multi-purpose room
Join Graduate students and friends for a wonderful brunch in the Sidney
Pacific Multi-purpose room. A live Jazz quartet will entertain guests as
they enjoy good food and good company. This event is open to the entire
MIT community.

and a major jazz show in Kresge:

BAYOU BASH BENEFIT CONCERT featuring The Wild Magnolias
        Charity Benefit for Hurricane Katrina/Gulf Coast.
        Sunday, October 30th
        Kresge Auditorium, MIT, 7pm (doors open @ 6:30pm)
        $10 for MIT Staff, Faculty and Affiliates;
        $5 for MIT students
        Purchase tickets online, in Student Life Programs, W20-549 or
        through MITAC (available at MITAC until 10/27)
This concert will be a huge gathering of New Orleans jazz musicians
including the city's Mardi Gras ambassadors, BigChief Bo Dollis & The Wild
Magnolias, Marva Wright-the Blues Queen of New Orleans, the Piano and
Zydeco princes, Davell Crawford and RockinDopsie, Jr., Donald Harrison and
the second line street beat of the Lil' Stooges Brass Band.
