our cities [And/Or] just come to kick-off the new semester with a BANG!!!

Where: MIT Museum,
http://web.mit.edu/museum/visiting/directions.html
Who are we? The Smart Cities Initiative (a new student group) aims to
foster interdisciplinary collaboration for MIT community members interested
in connections between urban and technological change. Whether you are
working on a specific project or just generally interested, this forum
should serve as a platform for building links across campus.
The first burning question is how to define "smart cities". Here's a
starting point: Smart Cities use technology to enhance urban life and are
changing the way we move, learn, consume, and interact. These technologies
are social, location-aware, mobile, and reactive. What do you think?

*Many thanks to the Graduate Student Council for supporting this jazz
kick-off event, the MIT Museum for providing an inspiring location, the
Muddy Charles Pub for providing the bartenders and drinks as well as The
Troglodytes for providing the jazz. We are also grateful for support from
the MIT Innovation Club and the MIT TechLink.
