[galib] NMAKE : fatal error U1073:

i have installed and used galib successfully using microsoft visual c++ 6.0 in my notebook.  now am trying to install it in my desktop pc.  i used the exact steps i have taken before but this is the error that i got after i type in command 
"cd examples
 nmake /nologo /f makefile.vcpp"

NMAKE : fatal error U1073: don't know how to make 'randtest.o'
Stop.

can somebody please tell me what is wrong and how to correct it? your help are highly appreciated. thanks.
