integer genes

Hi all,
   This is my problem. I wish to minimise a function where variables can

assume only integer values. For example let us assume a variable can
assume only the values 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. I'm using the following
strategy but I think that it is not good.
Use GABit2DecPhenotype: phenotype.add(4, 0.0, 4.9999) and get only the
integer part
Who can suggest me a better method?
