Abstract

Energy security and independence is a critical issue for the United
States and our international allies. Clean and renewable energy
sources such as solar energy, ocean energy, bioenergy and geothermal
are of abundant supply in the US and throughout the world. Innovative
technologies are being developed daily and some of the world’s proven
system integrators are helping to make utility scale, renewable energy
a reality. As a global security company, Lockheed Martin is applying
their complex systems engineering and systems integration skills to
renewable energy. Through a portfolio of renewable energy solutions,
partnerships with innovative technology companies, and applied
research and technology we are continuing to make progress in helping
to solve this global challenge. The challenges and the progress being
made across industry will be discussed during this lecture and
discussion.
