This lecture will address DOE initiatives, the President's Energy  
Initiatives (e.g. AEI, 20 in 10, global climate change initiatives),  
and the G8 Summit.  Sec. Karsner will discuss the importance of  
creating and sustaining a stable policy environment to facilitate  
greater investment in private markets and the specific measures DOE  
is taking to help US businesses.

The lecture, which is open to the MIT community, will be followed by  
a student-led discussion with Mr. Karsner. A light lunch will be  
provided from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.

immediately following his lecture to spend with students interested  
in energy.
