“ENERGY QUALITY, NET ENERGY AND THE COMING ENERGY TRANSITION”
Cutler J. Cleveland, Boston University
Prof. Cleveland is an internationally known expert in energy, energy
policy, and the complex issues that shape energy supply and use
patterns. Among many other positions he is the editor-in-chief of The
Encyclopedia of Energy.
His talk will focus on several aspects of energy supply, including
the thermodynamic and physical quality of the supply, as well as the
energy required to produce and distribute energy, and the effects
these will have on future energy sources. His research work has
looked at the economic, geological, engineering and institutional
forces that determined the historic pattern of petroleum discovery
and production in the U.S., and then used that information to
forecast future supply, and to analyze U.S. energy policy.
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Place: Room 33-116
