Abstract

 

Scott Nyquist will talk about how companies are thinking through capital
investment in the global energy market. He will explore the interplay
between high oil and gas prices, growth of biofuels, rapid increase in power
demand and the resulting mix of fuel choice for power generation in the
U.S., Europe and China. The focus of the discussion will be on the economic,
political, and regulatory issues that are effecting real investment decision
making across the global energy sector.


 

Biography

 

Scott Nyquist is a Director in McKinsey & Company's Houston Office and
co-leads the firm's Global Energy and Materials Sector.  He joined McKinsey
in 1984, worked in the London Office from 1985-1998 and then transferred to
Houston in January 1998.  He has led McKinsey's European Petroleum, Americas
Petroleum, and Texas Energy Practices.  Before joining McKinsey, Scott
worked for Exxon Production Research in Houston, Texas, where he was
involved in offshore oil platform design.
