The International and National Context for Local Action on Climate
Change

A Presentation by Dr. William Moomaw
Professor of International Environmental Policy, The Fletcher School,
Tufts University

International and national policies are essential for long-term success
in addressing global climate change. However, governments have been slow
take action on such policies. In this talk, Dr. Moomaw will address the
foundations for this resistance and will highlight the importance of
working on the subnational and local levels. The significance of
engaging institutions, businesses and community members will be
discussed.

Prof. Moomaw was a coordinating author for the IPCC Third Assessment
Report on Mitigation and is Co-Director of the Tufts Climate Initiative.
He was the first director of the Climate Energy and Pollution program at
the World Resources Institute, and directed the Center for Environmental
Studies at Williams College.
