For TR, you find out whether the alum has an undergraduate degree – and, if so, you send the notice to Class Notes (class.notes at technologyreview.com<mailto:class.notes at technologyreview.com>).

If they have a graduate degree only, you send it to CourseNews CourseNews at TechnologyReview.com<mailto:CourseNews at TechnologyReview.com>.

This afternoon I learned that an SDM alum has died.

Is there a protocol for this here at MIT? For example:

1) notifying the MIT and Sloan alumni offices;
2) submitting a notice to Tech Review;
3) holding a memorial gathering; and/or
4) anything else?
