[Editors] subscription to TED

FYI I contacted the MIT Libraries about the TED question, and here is the response I received from Courtney Crummet our liaison at the MIT Libraries. (Indeed, I was inquiring about TED LIVE).

Hi Julie,

Very interesting question. I had to hunt around a bit to answer your
question. We don't subscribe to TED because it is basically free. I
believe what you are inquiring about it the "TED Live":
http://www.ted.com/attend/ted-live

This must be a special service TED provides to folks in your situation
with the talk on Wednesday. We don't subscribe to TED Live.  While we
currently don't have a subscription, I will add this to the journal wish
list to be discussed the next time we make purchasing decision. I would just
want to clarify that my adding it to the journals wish list is not a promise
to buy, but a promise to look into it-I admit I wasn't not aware of this.

Subject: subscription to TED

Hi everyone -

One of our faculty members is giving a TED Talk on Wednesday morning. There are many people in our building who would be interested to watch her talk live — but I'm told one needs a subscription ($600!) to do this.

Does anyone know if MIT has a subscription to TED? Or is there any other way we might access the talk without actually having to pay this fee? Perhaps not, but I'd appreciate any tips/suggestions, thanks!
