Hi,
SDM is redesigning its website and there are some faculty members who would like scrolling text consisting of news and event announcements at the bottom of the new home page. They also want a slide show above the ti it.
There may also be a request to have scrolled text on other portions of the site. We are meeting to discuss this mid-afternoon today.
My questions, which are time-sensitive but hopefully quick to answer, are:
1) Does anyone have any examples of scrolling text that works well -- or does not? (Please send urls.)
2) What are the pros and cons?
3) In terms of analytics, what are your thoughts on listing news and events on a home page using scrolling text vs. on a static page?
4) Is there anything I didn't ask that I should have asked?
Thanks.
Lois
