[Editors] MIT Editors' Club Minutes: June 2012

We've done a good-looking newsletter for Comparative Media Studies for a long time. The smooth side of the process is that we've stuck to a template the last few years; the rough side, like others have said, is keeping the editorial calendar on track. We publish in September and February, so our feature writers -- profs and students -- are on break.
Here are all our issues: http://cms.mit.edu/news/inmediasres/index.php
And I'm always a big fan of our covers, like the two most recent…
That second one was a lot of fun…turns out the PDF of the MBTA's system map doesn't have flattened images. So I was able to open it in Illustrator and change all the station names to CMS faculty names, project titles, etc.

Suffice it to say that at one point we strayed--wildly--from the general topic of MIT communications (although the conversation started with a communications question!). Melanie's comment gives me the chance to remind ya'll that Editors' Club minutes are far from complete---you have to come to the meetings for the full experience! :)

At this meeting, we wished her ALL THE BEST, and pestered her to finish the web site for her own artwork. After all, we expect that her collection of paintings and more will begin to grow come August…..
