The Professional and Personal Journey of a Systems Engineer

By John A. Thomas, Senior Vice President and Chief Systems Engineer,
Booz Allen Hamilton; President-elect, INCOSE

John A. Thomas is a Booz Allen Hamilton senior vice president and its chief systems engineer—a title he acquired while helping to build Booz Allen Hamilton’s systems engineering and integration practice. He has devoted his career to assisting commercial and government leaders in dealing with the multi-disciplinary challenges faced when acquiring complex systems.

Mr. Thomas is also a leader at INCOSE, and in less than nine months he will transition from president-elect to president.

As a systems engineering leader, Mr. Thomas is committed to improving the systems engineering field by mentoring systems engineers. He travels the world, meeting with systems engineers and helping them lead the way to solving the toughest challenges in many domains/ industry sectors. In his visit to our chapter, he will share his personal story, along with his vision for the systems engineering profession.
