Because many of you work with News Office folk regularly, my 
director, Arthur, and I wanted to tell you that the office has had 
layoffs. Our colleagues Bob Sales and Debbie Halber will be leaving 
the office February 6.

Although we announced this at the Editors' Club meeting today, I 
didn't have the heart to include it in the minutes, which I always 
try to keep relatively light.

If you have questions that Bob and Debbie would normally answer, 
please feel free to ask me, and I will try to get you an answer or 
direct you to someone who can.
