Dear ECCO Support Team,

Hi, My name is JeongHyun Kim, and I am a PhD student at Stanford University. I have been actively using ECCO datasets downloaded from ECCO Drive for my research.

I recently noticed that access to the anonymous FTP server (ftp://ecco.jpl.nas.gov) has been discontinued, as indicated on the ECCO website. This has prevented me from accessing additional data that I need for my ongoing work.

Specifically, I have been working with both ECCO Version 4 Release 4 and ECCO Version 5 Alpha datasets. Unfortunately, I was unable to download some critical files before the FTP server was taken offline, including:

ECCO Version 5 Alpha: Grid information in the nctiles_grid folder and some latlon_monthly data files
ECCO Version 4 Release 4: Additional datasets that I would like to access via ECCO Drive
I would greatly appreciate your assistance with the following questions:

Is ECCO Drive expected to be restored in the near future?
If not, is there an alternative method to access the ECCO Version 5 Alpha data, particularly the files in the nctiles_grid folder?

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,

JeongHyun Kim
