Hi Ian

Quick answer is
                   'TOTUTEND','AB_gU ','Um_Diss ',
                   'Um_Advec','Um_dPHdx','Um_Ext ',
                   'VISrI_Um','Um_Cori ‘,

For meridional would be
                   TOTVTEND','AB_gV ','Vm_Diss ',
                   'Vm_Advec','Vm_dPHdy','Vm_Ext ',
                   'VISrI_Vm','Vm_Cori ‘,

Long answer: I’ll forward you an email from Helen Pillar showing how to close momentum budget. It includes the needed data.diagnostics and it includes some extra diagnostics needed to decompose the terms. Some of the code for getting these extra diags is not in the main tree (I believe). Deb and I don’t need all those extra terms. Just the terms already in the available_diagnostics would be great for allowing one to close the momentum and vorticity budgets.

Many thanks for offering to get these terms!

Matt

I'm looking to diagnose a closed momentum budget which I believe can only be accomplished with specific variables as opposed to computing with velocity variables. Does anyone know where I might be able to find the variables used in the Vorticity Budget Tutorial? Bonus points if it's Release 4
