[Dspace-general] Batch import techniques

Does anyone using the batch import have any tips or tricks on how to package
items into the DSpace archive format they would be willing to share?
Specifically, I'm looking for something that might work with MS Excel-- an
export function that takes publication lists in Excel (plus full-text in a
separate directory) and puts them into the ingest format?
