Degree: ALA accredited Masters degree in Library Science.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Required: Experience working with faculty or staff in the use of online
tools and services to suit their needs, preferably in an academic
setting; experience performing outreach, marketing, or liaison services;
familiarity with descriptive metadata schemes such as Dublin Core, MODS,
or USMARC; excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication
skills; ability to work effectively both independently and in groups.

Desired: Knowledge of trends in institutional repositories and their
strategic importance to academic libraries and research communities;
extensive knowledge of digital library and archival goals, practices,
and tools, especially with regard to technology and preservation;
experience working within complex library systems; familiarity with and
understanding of instructional and research workflows.

Principal duties: Reporting to the head of the University of Wisconsin 
Digital
Collections Center, the Digital Repository Librarian has primary
responsibility for the recruitment of new user communities and for the
acquisition of new content for MINDS at UW, the University of Wisconsin's
Institutional Repository. The Digital Repository Librarian is also
responsible for managing communication with and support of MINDS at UW
users, and for coordinating the efforts of library staff and
instructional technologists working with repository users throughout the
University of Wisconsin System. The position will require a
knowledgeable, enthusiastic, communicative, and self-motivated individual.
