[Dspace-general] dSpace and long-term digital archiving?

D-folks:

While I'm on the wire, let me also ask whether someone can describe the 
various dSpace development projects underway that  involve implementing 
improved functionality for long-term digital archiving?    It would be 
helpful to know not only when these projects might result in enhancements 
that could be shared by other institutions but also the full set of 
digital-archiving-related functional requirements that are being addressed.

Would it maybe be a good idea for those actual and potential dspace users 
who are interested in this to talk about a desiderata list or perhaps react 
to (high-level) functional requirements already under development for 
long-term digital archiving?

E.g., I'm impressed by the FCLA DAITTSS ("Dark Archive in the Sunshine 
State" ;) functional design.  Cilla Caplan posted an overview recently at:
