Hello dorm resident!

We hope your spring semester is off to a great start, and that you've found some time to enjoy the cold weather! We’ve been hard at work over IAP, and your favorite inter-dorm student government is back with some updates for the new year.

Dining Updates
First of all, our Dining Chairs have been hard at work this IAP, meeting regularly with MIT Campus Dining in regard to food insecurity concerns. In addition to working to make long-term IAP dining policy changes, we’ve also provided Baker, New Vassar, McCormick, and East Campus seed funding to start or enhance food pantries in their dorm. Be on the lookout from your dorm president for more information if you live there!

Additionally, Winter Olympic-themed events will be happening in dining for the next two weeks! Starting with an opening ceremony in New Vassar (where a marching band and corollaries will be performing), cultural food will be served at every dining hall, and opportunities to give your thoughts directly will be available. Funding Updates
Over IAP, dorm presidents have formally approved new funding guidelines. Any UG residence hall, dorm subcommunity, or individual resident (including undergrads in grad housing) is eligible to apply for funding, and more information is available on our website<https://dormcon.mit.edu/about/funding>. Upcoming GBMs
Our first General Body Meeting (GBM) will be this Thursday (2/12) at 7:30 in Baker! If you’re a dorm resident (which if you’re getting this email, you probably are), then you’re invited! Come eat some free food and stay up to date on all the most important issues facing dorms at MIT, including housing, dining, and more. GBMs are every other Thursday from 7:30-9pm, and dates/locations for our spring GBMs are:

We’ll also be holding a special election for Vice President at our upcoming GBM.
