Hey you!
Want to join a chill student government? And coordinate REX, i3 videos, or
rooming? Join DormCon! Our end-of-semester elections are happening on Thursday,
December 2nd, in New Vassar at 7 pm (with free food). We are electing for
two positions: two REX/CPW chairs and one i3/RAC chair. The position
descriptions are below. In addition to their specific responsibilities, all
members of DormCon exec have the opportunity to advocate for the student
perspective on the latest dorm topics (such as renovations, COVID, or the
housing process) through scheduled meetings or by serving on committees. We
meet to discuss the recent state of dorm things every Thursday evening
(also with free food!!!)
Interested? Amazing! First, fill out this form
<https://forms.gle/SYdGft3BJcDXrTkw6> to show your interest. Then come to
New Vassar prepared with some points on why you'd like to join exec (don't
stress too much, this part is pretty chill). Enjoy some food! And elections.
Everyone is encouraged to run for these positions, especially freshmen! As
a dorm resident who has experienced REX and maybe has seen i3 videos, you
are more than qualified for either of these positions. Don't hesitate to
email us with any questions! Enjoy your Thanksgiving break, and hope to see
you at elections 🦈

Position Descriptions:
🦈 REX/CPW Chairs 🦈
The DormCon CPW/REX chairs oversee all of the dormitories' events during
two of the best times of the year. They work closely with Admissions in
creating the CPW booklet and communicate with dorm CPW chairs to ensure a
great CPW. They are also responsible for coordinating REX (Residential
EXploration) and publishing the REX booklet by coordinating with all of the
dorms. This is a great opportunity to have a say in the way that MIT
welcomes its freshmen.
We elect 2 each year; term runs until the end of next fall semester.

holder) with any questions!*
🦈 i3/RAC Chair 🦈
The DormCon i3/RAC chair has two main jobs - in the spring, they are the
student point person for making the i3 project happen and throughout the
year they serve as the DormCon liaison to the dorm rooming assignment
chairs! On the i3 side, the i3 (Interactive Introduction to the Institute)
serves to introduce the incoming freshmen to the various wonderful dorms
and dorm cultures at MIT. The i3/RAC Chair helps coordinate the process of
creating and distributing the i3s by coordinating between administrators
and the dorm i3 chairs. They also meet with dorm rooming assignment chairs
and help to ensure good communication and knowledge sharing among the dorm
RACs. Lots of exciting opportunities for change as MIT seeks to improve our
housing policies and bolster student training!
We elect 1 each year; term runs until the end of next fall semester.
