Hello dorm residents!
*tl;dr: If you want to shape and provide feedback on a future MIT
dormitory, fill out this application
<https://goo.gl/forms/6KPEFvRi3Zj3TowS2> by Friday, October 14 at 5 pm!*
As you might remember from earlier this semester, the first step in
building more beds on campus was to come up with architectural principles
for what we think a dorm should look like. The Architectural Principles
Group has finished its work and it's time to move to the next phase of this
process: turning abstract principles into possible architectural designs.
A committee will be convened in the next two weeks to consider and give
feedback on architectural test fits* for a number of different possible new
dorm locations. VPSL Suzy Nelson has tasked DormCon with nominating a total
of four students for this committee, two reserved for New House residents
and two open to all dorm residents. We are looking for dedicated,
passionate, open-minded people to consider the big picture of a new
building and provide thoughtful solutions to the architects.
These students will provide critical input that will help shape students'
experiences for decades to come. If this sounds like something you're
interested in being a part of, we highly encourage you to apply! *The
deadline to fill out this form <https://goo.gl/forms/6KPEFvRi3Zj3TowS2> is
Friday, October 14 at 5 pm*. We will email potential nominees to set up an
interview by Sunday, October 16.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out
us.
Best,
Kate Farris, DormCon President (kmfarris at mit.edu)
Yuge Ji, DormCon VP (yji at mit.edu)
