Hi Dorm Resident!

CPW starts today, so I hope you're all excited! Going into this weekend,
there are a few things to keep in mind:
1. CPW is dry, so do your part and postpone your sweet party for next
weekend. Below is a message from Dean of Student Life Larry Benedict about
this.
2. CPW is not REX. You should focus on welcoming prefrosh to campus, not
recruiting them for your living group. In this vein, encourage prefrosh to
visit many places on campus and participate in as much as they can!
3. Have fun!

Greetings everyone,
>
> First let me offer my appreciation for your commitment and the significant
> effort you are undertaking to help our prospective class of 2012 feel
> welcome and part of MIT. Beginning this weekend, our new students will be
> learning about MIT and will spend considerable time experiencing life
> outside the classroom. During this weekend, some of our guests may attempt
> to fulfill misperceived expectations they hold regarding college social
> life.
>
> As you are aware, no parties with alcohol are permitted during CPW and no
> alcohol is to be provided to our guests by current students. Please also be
> aware that alcohol is not allowed to be present at any time in dormitory
> common space, for example lounges, hallways, meeting rooms, dining areas or
> other function space. Please store any alcohol you may have properly in your
> room.
>
> This is to diminish the likelihood of prospective students gaining access
> to alcohol that may be left in the common areas. Housing staff will not
> search individual rooms, but may remove or ask you to remove alcohol left in
> the dorm common spaces.
>
> Your help in creating an inviting and safe community is critical to the
> success of Campus Preview Weekend.
>
> My thanks,
>
> Larry G. Benedict
