Title : " SpliceArray: A new generation of microarray that enables
rapid detection of alternative splicing events "
Speaker: Richard Einstein, Ph.D.
Vice President Research
ExonHit Therapeutics Inc.
Venue: Rm 68-121, 4 PM
Abstract:
The maturation of microarray technology over the past ten years has allowed
the research community to begin to decipher the complex relationship
between gene expression and physiological function. By employing a novel
patented array design that monitors the expression of alternatively spliced
exons and junctions, ExonHit Therapeutics' SpliceArrays now empower
scientists to investigate and discover disease-associated isoforms at a
level previously unattainable by microarrays.
These observations add an exciting new level of complexity not typically
considered and also add great potential for the discovery of novel
therapeutic targets. This seminar will discuss SpliceArray content, probe
design, data analysis, validation studies and discussion of currently
available SpliceArrays (GPCRs, Ion Channels, Nuclear Receptors and
Apoptosis)). Possible applications of this technology in your current
research and the development of custom SpliceArrays will also be
addressed. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
P.S. Refreshments will be provided.
